2nd Region champ Henderson County (28-13-1) plays 3rd Region champ Meade County (27-9) in the second semifinal of the state baseball tournament
Henderson County and Meade County are scoreless after 2 innings. Avery Pitt throwing for HC; Jake Wilson for MC.
Meade County gets a run in top 3rd. Brady Smith scored on Garrett Ledford's fielder's choice. Mustangs lead Henderson 1-0.
The Green Wave got a run in top of third when Brady Smith singled, went to second on a wild pitch, to third on a throwing error, and scored on Garrett Ledford’s fielder’s choice. In the bottom of the inning, Henderson County’s Kaleb Duckworth was thrown out trying to score on a wild pitch.
Henderson erupted for 6 runs in bottom of fourth to take 6-1 lead on Meade. Justin Cessna's 3-run triple was the big hit
The Colonels rallied for six runs in the bottom of the fourth to take control. A three-run triple by Justin Cessna was the big hit. Henderson also got a double (from Sam Higgs), a pair of bunt singles and three walks.
Henderson built a 9-1 lead after five innings, but Meade rallied for 5 runs in the 6th to make it a 9-6 game.
Going to 7th inning, Henderson County leads Meade County 10-6 and needs 3 outs to make the finals.
