saw this score on the khsaa website. called a few people. they had little info to tell me. just that lchs came out hitting the ball hard off of the blanton kid. lchs catcher hit a liner off top of fence in left field. didn't go out though. heard lchs still has trouble fielding the ball on the infield. not sure if it was true or if the person telling me doesn't understand baseball, but they said all 5 runs for magoffin came after an error on the infield and then a throw by the catcher and one other error.
Lawrence had couple hard hits that was it, Blanton was wild walks hurt more than hits. Both teams were bad on defense, errors contributed to majority of runs scored from both teams. If the teams don't sure up defense there no way lawrence or magoffin will beat anybody at tourney time. Especially since offense for both teams is weak also.

Disagree with you kai. The pitchers for both sides were looking for a strike zone about the knees the size of a loaf of bread.
The W's were not too bad out and pretty close. Lawrence may have had their best outing all year from the plate and had 8/9 hits. If Blanton had some off spead stuff working the game would have been different. The pitcher in game #2 had some tricky off speed stuff going but there was a different Ump in that one (2-0)."Walks Hurt More Than Hits"? Only if there is a hit behind it. It is much harder to rally around a walk than a double off the fence. If you don't think these two teams will hit in the Tourney get your self a ticket.
