On the floor: After sitting out his sophomore season following a transfer from Shelby County, Hicks helped the Shamrocks to the state title by averaging 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals in about 20 minutes per contest. He led the team with 53 three-pointers and shot 46.6 percent overall.
Off the floor: Hicks made his first trip outside the United States this month when he was invited to play for a U.S. team in a tournament in Mannheim, Germany.
Future: Hicks already has scholarship offers from Georgia, Boston College, Western Kentucky and Florida International.
Quotable: âDarryl has really developed into more of a complete player,â Trinity coach Mike Szabo said. âHis hard work every day in practice has really paid off. His defense was really strong, and he was able to defend multiple positions on the floor. Heâs a player that always seemed to make a big play when our team needed it.â
