Seventh Region

Ballard has good hitters in Hannah Gray (.498), Bailey Walker (.425), Madison Wise (.385), Meghan McCreery (.365) and Jessica Adell (.335). The main pitchers — sophomore Adell and freshman Allison Wiseman — are young, but both pitched in the state tournament.

Male returns five-year starters in shortstop Katie Watson and center fielder Taylor Messex. Second baseman Kelsey McDowell, catcher Madi Phillips, left fielder Samantha Foust and pitcher Ally Miozza also return.

Eastern returns pitcher Casey Smith, who won 24 games last year. Brealyn Johnson (.400), Kelsey Patrick (.440), Lauren Guelda and Ashley Moore form the nucleus.

Assumption’s new coach, Jennifer Hunt, has one of the best pitchers in the state in senior Morgan Foley, who already is 4-0 this season. The Rockets have a strong core of hitters.

Atherton lost four-year starting pitcher Teresa Burba and the Lady Rebels only have two seniors.

Manual’s young talent is untested on the varsity level, but three juniors — catcher Savannah Madison (.383, 20 RBIs), outfielder Sadie Cohen (.432, 18 RBIs) and infielder Madyson Martin (.319, 17 RBIs) — can hit.

Sacred Heart has some good, young talent, led by freshman shortstop Melody Gayheart, left fielder Allison Woosley and center fielder Shayne Liebman.

Christian Academy, 23-10 last season, is led by pitcher Allison Foster, who was 22-6 and averaged 1.37 strikeouts per seven innings.

Fern Creek will have one senior and three eighth-graders in the lineup.

Basketball star Shelbi Hendricks leads Kentucky Country Day’s returnees.

Collegiate has a dandy pitcher in sophomore Anne Czerwonka, who fanned 18 batters in one game, and pitched a no-hitter, two one-hit games and two two-hit games. She also batted .676.http://saxo.highschoolsports.net/article...le&avis=B2
