Tonight the Lady Panthers took on the Lady Purples of Bowling Green in the first round of the Region 4 tournament. Russellville was looking for a measure of revenge as the Lady Purples came to Jim Young Gymnasium earlier this year and came away with a blow out win.

This time the Lady Panthers were determined to see a different outcome.

Despite playing the Lady Purples extremely tough in the first half, but the third quarter was all Bowling Green en route to a 63-30 loss for Russellville.

In the first quarter the Lady Panthers played an extremely tenaxious defense that forced numerous turnovers and the atmosphere of region tournament helped the Lady Panthers even the odds. After one quarter of playing the Lady Panthers were actually ahead 9-7 and looking to pull ahead.

With the Lady Panthers poised to put some distance between them and Bowling Green a few technicalities with the foul distribution halted the momentum that the Lady Panthers had built. With the momentum halted by the Lady Purples, Bowling Green went on their inevitable run that Russellville had kept in check all game long.

Coming out of the half the Lady Purples held a 22-13 lead and were ready to put an end to the game.

The third quarter was all Lady Purples as they scored over and over in a 26-0 quarter that paved the way for a Bowling Green victory. The Lady Panthers eased into the end of the game as they would fall 63-30.
