he Warren Central Dragons advanced to Saturday's District 14 championship with a 46-32 victory over Greenwood in the District 14 Tournament semifinals on Thursday at Warren Central High School.

Warren Central (23-7) took control midway through the third quarter, holding the Gators without a field goal for over 10 minutes. Greenwood (20-9) managed two field goals over the final 14 minutes - shooting 25.6 percent for the game.

Greenwood got off to a hot start, taking a 10-1 lead, but the Dragons rallied to take a 17-16 halftime lead.

The Gators scored the first six points in the third period to pull back in front 22-17 but went cold from there - failing to score a point for nearly eight minutes. Warren Central took control with 15-0 run, including a pair of 3's from Nay Walker - one that tied the game 22-22 and the other that gave the Dragons the lead for good.

Warren Central lead never dipped below eight point in the fourth quarter.

Walker and Donovan Halsel led the Dragons with eight points each, while Byron Carver added seven points and five rebounds.

Wes Johnson led Greenwood with 10 points and eight rebounds

With the win the Dragons advance to meet Bowling Green in the District 14 title game on Saturday at 7 p.m. Warren Central, the two time defending Region 4 champion, also advances to next week's region tournament.
