The Lady Scotties equaled the school record for wins in a season with a strong defensive effort and big offensive push in the second half. Lady Cats shot 29 percent from the field and turned the ball over 21 times.
"I thought we were terrific defensively all night long," Glasgow coach Justin Stinson said. "Even in the first half, I thought we really imposed our will defensively. You hold a team to seven points at halftime and that's pretty dang good. We had a hard time finding the bucket. We missed a lot of easy ones, but good teams are going to make shots in the second half and that is what we did."
Glasgow (23-4) shot 25 percent in the first half, but led 20-7 at halftime.
In the second half, Glasgow scored 43 points, 25 in the final period, as they were 14-for-21 from the field. The Lady Scotties were also 17-for-18 from the free-throw line.
"We let our defense turn into offense," Glasgow senior guard Kelsey Greer said. "We got steals and converted off the steals - easy layups, easy points."
Greer and Shalika Smith finished with 16 points each, while Haley Perkins added 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Tasia Covington led Franklin with 10 points.
The Lady Cats will face Todd County Central in the District 13 Tournament at Russellville High School at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Glasgow will face Barren County in the District 15 Tournament at Allen County-Scottsville at 6 p.m. Monday.
"We have to come to play well for 32 minutes," Stinson said. "We tied the school record for wins tonight, but that doesn't matter though when it comes to Monday night because we have to be better than Barren County for 32 minutes."
