Good Tuesday evening. The sun has been active this week and that may mean a crazy light show across our skyline tonight. The northern lights may be make a rare appearance here in the bluegrass state.
Hereâs why:
Thatâs what the sun looked like recently and it produced the biggest solar radiation storm since October 2003. Thatâs what will be causing this explosion of the northern lights tonight. Our skies will be partly cloudy and should allow for decent star gazing conditions.
This may impact power systems, spacecraft and aircraft operations and migratory animals.
Enjoy your evening and take care.
