To me, I believe this game comes down to depth and defense. Lakers win the defense battle, Kings win the depth battle. Also, in case you didn't know, Andrew Bynum will not play in this game for the Lakers.

Not having Bynum will hurt the Lakers, but I still think they will win this one. It won't be easy though. Sacramento is the team I have picked this year that will creep up on a lot of people and will much better than expected.

We know the Kings strategy in this game. I am assuming this is because Tyreke is selfish and Thornton will be covered by Kobe, lol. My strategy would be to give Cousins the ball and tell him to pound away at Gasol.

Agreed!!! I think Cousins has the potential to be a dominant, dominant player in this league. Him having a breakout year is important to the success of the Kings.
Who guards who?
Thornton will guard Fisher
Evans will guard Kobe
John Salmons will guard Devin Ebanks
Cousins will guard John McRoberts
Chuck Hayes will guard Pau Gasol
Fisher will get tired trying to guard Thornton on offense, but Thornton isn't much of a defender. If Fisher can bring some scoring that match-up could be a wash. With little conditioning this off-season and his advanced NBA age, I give the advantage to the Kings.
Tyreke is a good defender but Kobe is still Kobe. I don't care if they have to wheel him onto the floor. Nobody can stop him 1-1. However, the word is out to do like teams did inbetween the Shaq and Gasol days, let Kobe get his, but don't let him drive. Evans is a dangerous player when he can drive. Still advantage Lakers.
John Salmons vs. Devin Ebanks. Salmons was a 14-4-4-2 player last season in Milwaukee he is a career 10-3-3-2 player. He is a good 3-point shooter and can play very good defense. I am not sure why Artest/World-Peace isn't starting but I am sure he will get a lot of minutes if he can play. If Ebanks is THAT good, or if Artest can get some quality minutes, this will be a wash. If Salmons or Ebanks/Artest get hot from 3, this can be an important matchup. Advantage, neither team. If Artest plays at a high level, advantage Lakers, if Salmons gets hot from 3, advantage Kings.
Cousins guarding McRoberts is just going to be scary if Boogie can stay out of foul trouble (NOT EASY FOR HIM). McRoberts is only starting because Bynum is suspended for the first 4 games of the season. Maybe there is more to this but major advantage to the Kings. Guarding Boozer last night, Boozer had a 15 point-6 rebound game.
Hayes guarding Gasol will be advantage Gasol. I say that only IF Kobe feeds Gasol the ball. Kobe has been known to try to take over the game and forget his big-men in the regular season. If Gasol gets 20 shots, it could get ugly. However, he will be beat-up, some and tired while doing it.
D Cuz will dominate down low because the Lakers do not have an answer for him and I look for the Kings to win this one by more than 1!!
