That just cant get over the hump in the playoffs. Very curious occurence isnt it and it seems to happen yearly...Franklin County has a history of it, Harlan County, Frankfort High, Somerset...these teams just destroy people mid season..but come november they just have meltdowns..anyone have any input as to why?

I can't speak for the other three, but at Somerset we have just run into three teams that were better than us over the past three seasons. Last year we probably should have beat Belfry but they played better than us that night, it wasn't a meltdown. This year we were hardly the favorite to win 2A. In fact, none of those teams have been favored to win it all, so that 'hump' they can't get over is really more of a mountain.

Raceland has always had the same problem. Their problem for many years was that they were in the same region as Beechwood and NCC (when they were in 1A). Raceland always had to play better team early on in the playoffs. Only in 2008 I would say that Raceland lost to an "inferior" team.

It could be a number of things, but mainly its the strength of the district and its hard to win games by 30+ and then go into a close game suddenly. The body is use to playing 3 quarters of easy football, but once you hit that one hard game where it takes you into the 4th, your body isn't ready for it.
Put us on this list. Hopefully with the return of the bulk of our team we will be able to correct our situation
