Last Season: 12-15 (Lost in 34th District semifinals to Dixie Heights, 82-45).
Key Players: Sr. G Kenny Kurzendorfer (10.2 ppg); Sr. F/C Derek Phelps (9.8 ppg, 9.9 rpg); Sr. G Karl Weickgenannt (9 ppg); Jr. F Thomas Steinkoenig (5.3 ppg, 4.6 rpg).
What's New: A good chance at a first Ninth Region Tournament berth since 2007-08.
Outlook: The Blue Lightning return their top three scorers from last season and have depth with junior guard Andrew Smith, junior guard Marius Van Melle, junior forward Randy Lund, junior forward Andy Piccirillo and 6-foot-7 sophomore Troy Phelps. His 6-7 brother Derek is capable of averaging a double-double and there are good perimeter shooters in Kurzendorfer and Weickgenannt. The key will be finding a replacement for point guard Andrew McLean, who graduated.
