Is WYMT going to cover the GOW this week? If so, has anyone heard who it will be? Hope Breathitt\Somerset game. I have to work the Green\Campbellsville game and would be able to watch it!:insane:
Hazard vs Lexington christan

That blows. Breathitt and Somerset should be a good one. The playoff game last year was a very good game.
So the wymt is also covering the hazard and lexington christian game. wazoo is also covering this game.
Heck, I'd just like to see WYMT show something more than the score from a Russell Co game. Just a little flash of nick britt taking one to the house or something. We're down here in a pocket that's more likely to get coverage from TN than any of the KY stations.

I really couldn't tell you the last time wymt did a live game at Breathitt maybe the 1996 or 1997 game with Belfry.
I hope at least they do the Hazard vs Breathitt game next week.

If Russell County would have played Somerset this year they'd have probably been on there then. The Briar Jumpers tried to schedule them but the Lakers didn't want to play.
I think the Breathitt Somerset game is by far the game of the week in the mountains. Hazard LCA coming in second. But from what I hear, LCA is down majorly this year so that shouldnt be as good of a game. Ive not saw LCA just going off what ive read and heard.

Well if Hazard cant put it in the endzone then its going to be a barn burners. Plus its a new rivarly thats tied at 3 and 3.
Derek Forest,

Any chance of you guys at WYMT posting the video of the Prestonsburg/Belfry GOW on the WYMT website for replay viewing?

I wish they would have too. It would have been nice to have a stuffed Jumper on the wall. LOL

+1
If it were up to me, the GOW would be Breathitt County & Somerset.

I too would like to see the replay of Prestonsburg & Belfry.
TTT to see if any other forum members would like WYMT to post the GOW on their website somewhere for replay viewing pleasure.

Maybe if we all request, it will be done?
We already post all of our newscasts and sports shows on the web. We do not have enough server space to upload all of our games of the week for future viewing. I would love to, but right now, it is not feasible.

Can WYMT do their own ihigh page and post there?

Would think you guys can help reach an even broader market this way with your advertisers for the people who would watch it on the fringe of your territory (Ashland area, Southern WV, SW Virginia, etc).

Russell County is out of the mountain area that WYMT covers I believe.
^ That would be correct

Good luck with that. Evidently the Laker coaching staff didn't want to play, I guess the 40-20 and 63-19 scores the last 2 seasons scared them.
Somerset "vs" Breathitt is hands down the game of the week. Both teams are undefeated and ranked in the top four of their respectable classes. This game will determine if the Jumpers and the Bobcats are contenders or pretenders.
Guys you really need to invest in a DVR (digital video recorder). I have the game recorded at home even though i was at the game live. I like to look over & see where the mistakes came from.

why not post them on ihigh
#1vikingfan Wrote:why not post them on ihigh

Because I am sure, its all about "our brand" staying "our brand". Although it would give access for everyone to watch the games on iHigh, people will then see it as an iHigh product.

Keep in mind this is strictly my opinion, but I think it seems to make sense from a branding perspective.

If you want to watch the game, you'd watch it on WYMT, no place else. Haha

Valid point..but if it is not posted you won't be watching anything. I completely agree that the live broadcasts stay a WYMT exclusive, but if those are not going to be archived then the brand doesn't matter anyway.

That's why I am saying WYMT should post their archived games to ihigh. You still will have control over advertisers, you get to obtain more "hits" as opposed to a non-existent broadcast, and you have the ability to potentially reach fringe audiences multiple times.

For example: Lets say you are from Ashland, KY. You probably never see the original webcast, you are at your own school's game. But, if you can watch an archived game of Johnson Central and Belfry (teams on theri schedule or teams they may see in the playoffs) you will probably do so the following week. In addition, think of how many WYMT sponsors have a market that also include Ashland that they would love to have exposure which they otherwise would not be getting. This is a definite bonus to them and makes WYMT more valuable in their eyes.

I wholeheartedly see the point of being brand conscious...but I see posting archived videos as a distinct marketing tool.
Agree with ^ assuming at least that Wymt could sell advertisements for "their" ihigh page. Cause isn't it essentially free bandwith?
Seems like a vote of some kind in which the fans choose which game would be covered a week or so ahead would be good, Put options on Sports-Overtime, WYMTnews.com and on here.
Half time score shows this game may be a blow out. I would have liked to have watched Breathitt and Somerset.
