Congrats Eastern
Visiting Eastern scored 35 unanswered points in the second half to rally for a 49-28 victory over Collins on Saturday night at Shelby County's Robert Doyle Stadium.

The Titans scored three touchdowns in the final 2 minutes and 19 seconds of the first half to lead 28-14 at intermission, but Collins couldn't carry that momentum over into the second half.

The Eagles scored on their first five possessions of the second half, including three times on the heels of Titans' turnovers, to take command of the game.

"The wheels fell off," said Collins Coach Jerry Lucas, whose team had six turnovers (four fumbles, two interceptions) and was penalized 12 times for 106 yards. "A lot of the problems were self-inflicted and that's a hard pill [to swallow]."

Eastern quarterback Tanner Evans completed 28 of 35 passes for 356 yards and four touchdowns (three in the second half) with one interception as the Eagles - No. 9 in the Associated Press Class 6A Top 10 - rolled up 490 yards of total offense.

In the loss senior linebacker Michael Brooks had an incredible 27 tackles, while also returning Evans' lone interception for a 65-yard touchdown and also catching a 34-yard TD pass from Collins quarterback Lawson Page.

The Titans sophomore QB was 14-for-31 for 210 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Meanwhile sophomore running back DeAndre Farris rushed for 43 yards and one touchdown and had three catches for 65 yarsd and another score.

Collins (2-2) has its bye week next week and next plays Sept. 23 at Spencer County.

"Now we've got a week to get back to fundamentals," Lucas said.

Saw this game, Collins should of won this for sure. Just didn't finish them off at the beginning of the 3rd quarter.

I agree they should have won. They were about to go up 35-14 early in the 3rd when they snapped the ball over the QB's head. After that one mistake it was all down hill from there.
