That the SEC had 13 schools when it was formed in 1932

Shawnee State (left in the '40's)
Tulane (left in the '60's)
Georgia Tech (left in the '60's)
UK
Tennessee
Vandy
Georgia
Florida
Bama
Auburn
LSU
Ole Miss
Mississippi State
South Carolina (entered in 1991)
Arkansas (entered in 1991)
Shawnee State? Random.
Shawnee State in OH???
^Can't be. It was established in 1986.
It wasnt Shawnee State.
It was the University of the South or "Sewanee", as it was called back then, not Shawnee.
It is currently a member of the Division III Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, but will leave that conference in July 2012, along with six other SCAC members, to form a new D-III conference. They were in the SEC from 1932 to 1940.

Gtech(1932-1964) and Tulane(1932-1966) were the other two
S Carolina and Arkansas joined in 1991.

Another interesting fact i found is the all time win-loss record for all sec football teams.

Here it is...

1. Alabama 813-316-43
2. Tennessee 789-340-53
3. Georgia 733-389-54
4. LSU 721-387-54
5. Auburn 710-400-47
6. Florida 662-379-40
7. Arkansas 657-451-40
8. Mississippi 615-468-35
9. Kentucky 567-558-44
10. South Carolina 543-539-44
11. Vanderbilt 558-567-50
12. Mississippi State 500-538-39

I wonder how many other confrences has every single team with atleast 500 all time wins. Probably not any

As a conference the totals look good....
However the SEC cant touch the Pac in this stat.

Schools with the most NC's in the nation are #1 UCLA 107 #2 Stanford 101 #3 USC 93

As a whole the conference has 400 National Titles in team sports.
