On paper, Paintsville has no chance. Most people think Paintsville should just pack it up and go home. I don't think that and neither do our girls. They still aren't over the hump just yet, but they have gained a lot of confidence. It's more of a calm confidence. They don't think they're world beaters or anything. They just think they can play with anybody.
Monroe scores 50% of their points off their press and pressure defense. If Paintsville can take care of the ball, they most definately can beat the #10 team in the state, which has losses to 2 powerhouses, #3 Clay Co by 3 points and to #7 Sacred Heart by 5 points.
Monroe's fans are worried about PHS's inside game. They don't have a player over 5-8 on the whole team. Monroe relies on their ultra quickness and steals. If PHS gets them in a half court game, Monroe will be in big trouble.
Monroe Victory- PHS would turn the ball over 20+++ times and give up a lot of lay ups
PHS Victory or close loss- PHS handles the pressure and controls the tempo.
