First tournament is April 8th thru 10th at Knoxvegas.
I will try to provide updates on this team.
Good to see two Southwestern players on this team. Justin Edwards is the real deal.
Hall and Johnson should be a force inside.
Good to see some 15th region talent on the team.
How is the team doing?
Ky Elite won their three pool games by an average of 29 points. They won their first 2 bracket games to get to the final four. Cold shooting hurt in that game, just couldn't make any outside shots and lost to Worldwide from Georgia. Team looked great for their first time playing together. Very unselfish group that played team ball very well.

Fun stat: Shane had 11 dunks in 6 games. Will play at Knott Co. Sportsplex this weekend if there are enough teams.

King James Classic April 22nd - 24th at Akron, OH.

Great tournament, we will see what KY Elite is made of once they get out of pool play in this tournament. Good Luck representing KY!

"the sky is the limit" for Shane Hall. He could be very special if he has the attitude to do it.
King James Classic:

Ky Elite won their pool by beating DC Warriors and a local Ohio team.

In bracket play they beat Millenium Fire.

They lost to Ferrari out of Chicago 60 -52 in a very competitive game.

Ferrari finished 2nd in the AAU Nationals last year. They have beaten Ray Allen Select and a few other very good teams this year.

Next is Wallace Prather Jr. Classic in Atlanta May 6th - 8th.

How deep did they go in the King James Classic?
Good to see a team traveling to some high profile tournaments. Keep it up.
Didn't go deep into this tournament. 82 teams and 38 made the gold bracket. What happened to KY Elite and 11 other pool winners is they had to play a play in game to get to the final 32. 5 number 2's and 5 number 3's got into the final 32 without a play in game. Bracket not drawn out well. Some pools did have 2 very good teams in them, but I still think they should have played the play in games. Still may not have made it out of the round of 32. It is a lot of fun to watch this team, they play well together.

Most of the big tournaments have what they call "super pools", they will have 2-3 top teams in them and maybe one weak team. Good teams don't want to travel and play 2-3 weak teams in pool play. In these pools, the top 2 or 3 teams advance to the Gold bracket no matter what their record is, just because of the competition in the super pool. Teams from these pools will not play "play-in" games. The teams that get in the "super pools" are the real "elite" teams across the nation. ie, DC Assault, All-Ohio, OBC, D-One etc....
Thanks for the info goodguy. The reasoning makes sense, as long as it wasn't random I am ok with that.
Wallace Prater Memorial - Atlanta

Ky Elite goes 2 -1 in pool play and finished 2nd. Beat one of the Atlanta Celtics teams (not the best one) and Ga South Kings and lost to Memphis Magic. In the bracket beat Jax Lee Bulls and lost to Birmingham Ice in the final 8. Birmingham is a very good team.

AAU State Tournament is next, May 20th to 22nd.

Good luck guys.

Memphis Magic is a crazy good organization.

Damn right. No shame in losing to them.
How did this team do at the AAU State Tournament this past weekend?
Pool Play 1-1 beat Lexington Celtics and lost to Louisville Magic by 14. Played well early againtst Magic and had a 26-20 lead and the Magic just took over from that point on.

Bracket: Beat BA Hoyas and Louisville Prospects and lost to Charlotte Court in the Final 4.

Dunks: Hall - 10 and Johnson - 2 and Nobe -1 in five games.

Pretty good showing, thought we should make it to finals but Charlotte Court was good and outplayed us.
