Lyon Co is coming in with a 15-4 record with losses to Muhlenburg South by 2 and St Mary by 16. Those are the only losses to state competition. The rest of their state schedule is very weak, much like Paintsville's. Lyon's losses came to teams that have a 25-15 record.
Paintsville has a 13-5 record with losses to Mag. Co by 18, JCHS by 8, Lincoln Co by 7, and Prestonsburg by 2. Paintsville losses came to teams with a 47-22 record.

Lyon does not have anyone averaging 8 rebounds per game.
Apparently, Lyon must work the ball around for good shots. They have a low average score and a very good FG %. As for Paintsville, their average score is low mostly because of turnovers.
Paintsville will have Chelsee Jarrell at full strength and hopefully Jessikah Russell will be at full strength. This will be the first time PHS will be at full strength all year. What does all this mean?? I have no idea.:blabbermo :blabbermo
I think Paintsville will go down there with the attitude that they have absolutely nothing to lose and a whole season to gain. As long as they play their hearts out, for the first time all season, I might add, they will be winners in my book.
They can win at least 2 games. That just might put them over the hump. (The 3rd game would be Monroe Co in the semis. Monroe is a top 10 team and that might be too tough of a challenge. Not impossible, though.)

This will be a great game P-Ville just needs to hit the boards hard to get some good second chance oppurtunites make sure to get out on the peritmeter to shut down Lyon's outside shoting and dominate the transition game if they do all that they will win by 8+...if not it will go either way 2 or 3 point game

They will play the winner of Moore and Bardstown. Bardstown upset Caverna. The game will be Friday at 12:00.
Another look at Lyon Co. Lyon is on a 9 game winning streak. But, those wins came against very weak competition. Those teams have a combined 58-105 record.
St Mary is a team that beat Lyon by 16 points. St Mary has a decent record, but have been seriously blown out by decent teams.
PHS has a very good chance of winning a couple of games. I can't wait until Wed 5:00.

It looks like Jarrell is feeling much better. Russell was all smiles last night. That's the first time she's felt good enough to smile in about 2 weeks. If both of those girls are ready, it will be the first time this year that PHS will be at full strength.
The Lady Tigers are very excited. They were escorted out of town at 6:30 last night by 2 city police and 3 county police. They were escorted with blue lights to the county line. When you win the All A region for the first time, you get treated like that because it is a big thing. If they win it next year, it probably won't happen.

I am sitting here about to die......... I had everything set and then a last minute set-back. I just want those girls to know how much I love them and how proud I am for their ability to get over the "hump" and realize the "tip of the iceberg" of their talenT and ability..... proving you can make your own breaks!
