MATTS MUSTANGS finished 3rd at AAU 6th Grade Sate. The Mustangs started C/F Trenton Russell from Magoffin County, PG Jaren Lovely form Magoffin County, Shooting Guard Chase Porter from Elliott County. Also on the team from Eastern Kentucky was forward Dalton Peters from Magoffin County. They lost in semi-finals to Rob D's by 5 and in pool play to the Kentucky Elite by 5. In both losses that had leads late in 4th quarter. The boys had a very impressive showing and will travel to the National AAU Tournament in July.
Very impressed with this team.....they can be very good by July and make some noise at the nationals!
We (Kentucky Elite) are headed to St Louis tomorrow to play in the Coach T Classic. We have Indy Hoosiers, Memphis War Eagles, and Atlanta Knicks in our pool (all 3 top 10 in last years D1 nationals). We will report back to let everyone know how competitive we are. Don't know what to expect but you have to play the best to be the best, LOL!
