I've been seeing a lot of threads/post referring to records.
I thought posting them in a thread would make it much easier for people to refer back to and use as a good source.
Keep in mind that schools and coaches have the responsibility of submitting records to the KHSAA and just because a record that you know has been broken or made the list isnt on here, its the schools fault.

I had forgotten about Clays unbelievable home record back in the day.
Its a great record to not lose a game at home for almost a decade.
Anyone remember who beat them?
I say pin this thread at the top as a reference.
^ thats what i was going to say in the thread but i didnt know if they would or not.
I am shocked at a few things in this one....
1) Clay's home win streak....
but if you've ever played there you understand lol
2) Jackson City beat a team by almost 200 points!
3) Tim Couch is on the all-time scoring list

and finally
4) Highest team PPG average for a season - OBI?!?!

So i wasn't the only one to notice these accomplishment.

I would correct the records before I pinned them at the top as a referrence.

The records that the KHSAA prints on their website and in the Sweet 16 program have lots of errors and omissions. An example is coaching wins.

* Russell Williamson of Inez High School should be 2nd on the list with 793 wins. Poor Coach Williamson is nowhere to be found on the KHSAA list.

* Billy Hicks of Evarts, Harlan, Corbin, and Scott County should be 3rd with 775 wins. Each year Billy Hicks teams win about 30 games and each year the Sweet 16's program has him with less wins than the previous year.

I would take many of these records with a grain of salt.

Yea, i agree, thats what i was talking about in my original thread.
The website needs to be updated a lot better.
The OBI thing amazed me too, they must have had some athletes that year, i cant recall them ever doing anything like that.
''King'' Kelly Coleman owned the individual states WITHOUT a 3 point line.

An Australian All Star Team.

I remember the 1983 OBI team well. They were very good. Cawood was a state power in 83 and I think OBI beat the Trojans 120-100 or something like that. OBI had two high scoring guards (one was Brown and I don't recall the other) and a 6'7" center named Samuals. Evarts had a very good team that year as evidenced by the Wildcats upsetting Cawood and Cumberland, both powerhouses in 83, on back to back nights to win the 52nd district tournament. Evarts beat OBI 98-92 in one of the most entertaining games ever played in the 13th region tournament. Cawood beat Clay Co in the 13th region semis in OT. Middlesboro won the 13th over Cawood on a very controversial basket at the end of regulation. 1983 was a great year in the 13th region. I think Cumberland had 7 players on the 83 team that played college basketball.
