Fort Knox is currently open according to KHSAA

Coach Combs had things going in the right direction with tremendous progress the last couple years, including the Eagles 1st round playoff win over Glasgow.

Coach Combs did a good job there.. Good luck to him in all of his future plans.

Anyone with information on this situation? Did the coach move on? Forced out? Resign for other reasons?

Fort Knox was poised to be a player in the district with Danville gone. They also had several talents players returning as well, unless some moved because of military reasons. The timing of his leaving seems weird with all the things going the right direction it seems for the Eagles right now

Legit family reasons. His wife either just had another child or has one on the way or both. And he said that it's just too hard to balance a new family with the stress and responsibility of being a head coach. He said that he'll most likely take this year off and continue coaching the following year as an assistant or head coach. Good luck to you Coach Combs!

Best of luck to Coach Combs in all he decides to do. He seemed to have Fort Knox heading in the right direction but family always comes first.

No where have I seen this information at before?

Did they ever make a hire?

best of luck to Coach Combs, a great coach, a stand-up guy with great character.

I heard they got their coach but can't annouce it until he is officially been hired as a teacher. Federal regulations says they have to be hired as a federal employee first before they can be announced as a coach.

Annoucement soon.

Bubba Combs is a class act. It will be a huge loss for Fort Knox.
