ixie Heights senior Matt Trammel hit a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to send the Colonels - the No. 1 team in the Enquirer Northern Kentucky boys' basketball coaches' poll - to overtime against Scott Wednesday night, but it only delayed the Eagles' 62-60 upset.
Senior forward Cameron Haynes scored six of the Eagles' 11 points in overtime.
"We just had to clear our heads and bring it in overtime," Scott coach Brad Carr said. "Our kids responded well. We weathered the storm and found a way to win it at the end."
Scott (7-7) had lost seven of its previous 11 games and also lost to Dixie Heights earlier this season.
"Whenever we play you can throw records out," Carr said. "It's a rivalry game, a lot of the kids know each other, but we need to keep building and continue to try and get better."
Scott's Kellen Smith led all scorers with 21 points, increasing his career total to 1,006.
