Johnson Central 2022
#1
What is everyone's thoughts for the upcoming season?
#2
Run, run and run the ball.

15-0

When I talked to Jim Matney last year and in recent years he always told me his best play was to give it to his best player and to let the kids do all the work. His interview for the belly offense was very precise and detailed
I’m hopeful the team follows what got them where they are today
#5
We got some work to do, but we got the pieces and the coaches to do it.

theyll be in the championship again

I would have to agree somewhat. I think 4 teams will be above all the rest in the end being Franklin County, Boyle, Central and Johnson Central. So if RPI holds true like it normally does and the top two teams in the east are seperated being Boyle and Johnson Central, then that RPI will determine who makes it either way to the championship. They definately will have a very good chance of being there once again but so will Boyle and Franklin/Central. Everyone else is a big question mark. Good luck this season.

It'll be hard to replace Bingham, but JC will be there again as one of the best teams in 4A.

Backfield will be loaded.

Skill players are returning.  Will need to replace some offensive lineman.  Anyone wanting a spot on line needs to hit the weight room.  Who knows with as many kids that change schools someone may walk in the door at JC that is not expected.
#10
I think this team will be fine. Hopefully the energy stays at a high level...Matney built a powerhouse.
#11
JC will have the best backfield in the state. Losing some good linemen, but I look for them to just reload on the OL.

Should make a good run. Be tough to fill some spots but JC always does a great job in developing kids.

Yes they do.

Rbs will be nasty. Nice stable of backs if they can commit to spreading the wealth like they did last season. I’m sure their line will be fine. No Grant Bingham types but still big and powerful I’m sure. They may struggle early in the year but will be poised for another deep run I’m sure.

I think they lost all their starting OLine except for one.
#16
Jesse Peck will be able to keep it between the lines. Will they be able to stay at the level they have been? Probably not, but that would be the case with any non-private school in the state. They should always be very, very competitive and a threat to make a run or string together a couple seasons where they can make a run every couple of years at this point.

My understanding is that the weight room at JC is a very busy place.

Ironton.  The other teams in the Ohio vs. outsiders event are national level schools.  Great looking lineup.

Damn, only 6 games so far, and 4 of them are district games that they have to play. That really sucks. Hopefully some teams down state will step up to the plate, good quality teams. Everyone knows there aren’t any teams in EKY that’s gonna play them in the regular season other than Belfry. Scrimmages don’t mean shit.

I heard they only have 2 dates to fill but I don't know if that's accurate. I hate it for this program that everyone runs from them when it comes to scheduling.

Would like to see them get Fredrick Douglass on there. I wished them and Pikeville would play too.
#26
Venture out of Paintsville. FDU and LCA would be good games for JC. Maybe it’s time to play Louisville Trinity or St X. Southwest Pulaski would be good 5A team. JC has a great program though. Not gonna knock them any.

I believe one of those top open date will be at the Bluegrass Bowl in Lexington vs Fern Creek HS.

Wish Johnson Central good luck in the upcoming season. Would really like to see Pikeville and JC schedule each other.  I think it would be good for both teams and would bring a good gate.

Wouldn't be close.

JC weight room has been filled up and these kids are ready to keep the tradition running. They should schedule the biggest dogs in the state if they could and get the new lineman accumulated for big games. All i know is these backs will roll.
