Trump to spend 9/11 anniversary as ringside commentator at casino boxing match
#1
https://news.yahoo.com/trump-spend-9-11-...46730.html

Just another example of Trump trying to get attention, but doing so on this particular day is appalling.

On the 20th anniversary of 9/11, President Joe Biden is visiting the three sites hit by the terror attacks. Former Presidents Barack Obama and George W Bush paid tribute to victims at Ground Zero in New York City and the Pennsylvania field where Flight 93 crashed, respectively.

“Does it surprise you even by his low standard?” Mr Cooper asked Ms Trump. “If another former president decided to spend 9/11 commenting on a boxing match on pay-per-view, people would … their heads would explode.”
“That’s been the problem all along,” she said in response. “For reasons that are very difficult to understand. There is a completely different standard that Donald‘s held to. In fact, he‘s held to no standard.“
“It’s disgraceful,” she added.

Contrasting Bush's speech to Trump's behavior should be insightful to all, but obviously some still can't or won't see it.

Trump is no longer president. If you want to compare his day to the current president, Biden has been praising attacks on the "religion of peace" by Christians to commemorate the attacks by Islamic extremists on 9/11. It is hard to believe that anybody would look so hard for something to criticize a former president for on 9/11, when the current president did not even make a formal public appearance to commemorate the attacks by 19 Islamic terrorists on American soil.

Did Biden speak? Or was this just a photo op for the President of the United States?

I should have said that Biden has been criticizing attacks on the "religion of peace" - not praising them. I partially edited a sentence and did not proofread the result closely enough. Biden did not deliver a public address on 9/11 because he was afraid of being booed. Instead, he recorded a speech and then attended three photo-ops to commemorate the event. At least he did not call a lid and hide in his basement.

I’m not sure he needs to talk.  To me there are more important people on that day.

I believe that he is the first American president not to speak on an anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. He obviously did not have anything more important to do yesterday. A strong leader would have weathered the boos that would have greeted him, had he not chickened out yesterday.

maybe that’s why he didn’t speak.

In this overly politicized climate where folks get their news from organizations that poison their brains and make them want to destroy America, Biden said hey let’s keep this about 9/11 and not what Hannity told these people to think.

I found some intended irony in this 20 year reunion watching W speak in Shanksville yesterday. That plane was headed for the Capitol.  Those people risked their lives to prevent the destruction of the Capitol and killing our elected representatives.

My gosh how times have changed.

Yes, times have changed. Now we have a president whose incompetence is doing the job that terrorists used to do. How many innocent victims did this administration claim last month? Has Joe Biden apologized to the families of the humanitarians who died in his ill-fated drone attack? Biden is an immoral, corrupt coward. That is why he did not risk getting booed yesterday by making a public speech.

I hope he does. As I said of anybody he will do it. Nothing has ever been Trump’s fault, Obama would have danced around it, and in W’s case nobody would care if He did it.

This is a new standard you’re starting. One that conservative warhawks like yourself have never had. Sure will be interesting when the next Republican President does the same thing.

I'm not a conservative war hawk. However, I am opposed to the slaughter of innocents as the result of negligent leadership and I am in favor of leaders accepting responsibility for their mistakes in a timely manner. Neither Trump, Obama, nor George W. Bush is president. We are currently stuck with Joe Biden, so he is the only president who can be held accountable for his screw-ups.

Interesting. I’ll eagerly wait for that Biden apology.

I wonder if Trump apologized for his screwups during his 9/11 boxing match last night…
Less than a year from the big lie and the incitement of an insurrection and 18 months from an inept response to a pandemic. Still pretty timely…

If Trump screwed up during his appearance last night, then he should apologize to his hosts. Trump is no longer president. Biden is our president and a royal screw-up. A current president's performance in office tends to influence the direction of this country more than all of its living former presidents combined. That is why Biden's job approval rating has taken a nose dive.

Trump is a private citizen and is free to spend his time however he wants. I hope that Trump remains a private citizen but if he chooses to run for president again, then that is also his constitutional right, despite the Democrat Party's repeated efforts to deprive him of that right. Biden is our president and he is our problem right now.

The election was rigged and it would have been rigged no matter who the GOP had run. Biden did not spend enough time campaigning to have won the election and there is no way that more people voted for him than any other candidate in history. I believe that most people, including Democrats, know that but just are not willing to admit it to themselves. Joe Biden has been nothing but a punchline for a joke for decades.

Millions of people who voted Democrat were not voting for Biden, they were voting against Trump.  It's not very complicated guys if you are honest with yourself.

You're right, it's not very complicated. A record number of voters do not turn out to vote against any candidate. I voted against Hillary Clinton in 2016 by voting for Trump but I carefully considered the alternatives of casting a third-party vote or abstaining.

I voted for Trump in 2020 because he had exceeded my expectations and it also allowed me to vote against the worst presidential candidate of my lifetime. Trump enjoyed a large enthusiasm gap over Biden and Biden barely campaigned.

If I had voted for Biden, I would be spinning it as a vote against Trump too. Justifying a vote for Joe Biden would be a monumental task - even bigger if he serves an entire term in office.

I hope that Trump remains a private citizen but if he chooses to run for president again, then that is also his constitutional right, despite the Democrat Party's repeated efforts to deprive him of that right. Biden is our president and he is our problem right now.

We have no one to blame for Biden except Trump.  If the GOP had ran almost anyone else, Biden wouldn't have won.

I believe they did.  Trump scares millions of people that badly.  I honestly did not think we could get much lower than Clinton on the integrity scale as President, but Trump has proven me wrong.

Contrasting Bush's speech to Trump's behavior should be insightful to all, but obviously some still can't or won't see it.

GWB  is a class act. I don't agree with a lot of his politics but I love his friendly, self deprecating sense of humor. Michelle Obama said she just loves GWB . Bill Clinton gets along with him well, also. I loved what said to Hillary Clinton after Trump's absurd inauguation speech:  "That was some weird sh!t ! "  LOL

We will have to agree to disagree on this point too. I never doubted that Bill Clinton was a competent, relatively loyal American president.

Obama was the first anti-American president and Biden is the second one. My belief that Bill Clinton was competent and loyal did not extend to his evil, incompetent wife. Bill is not a moral man but he was intelligent, competent, and pragmatic when compared to Biden. Biden is one of the stupidest U.S. Senators of my lifetime and his mental ability began plummeting while he served as Vice President. Joe Biden is the most idiotic person ever to have served as either President or Vice President. He is a reflection of our failed public school system in this country.

Good God why argue with these idiots who never question their leaders, much less say anything bad about them. Dumbest people on Earth and total waste of time.

How else are they going to learn?

j/k ...

But if Biden manages to stay in office, then most of even his biggest supporters will reach the point of realizing how wrong they were. Will they ever admit their mistakes? Probably not, but maybe they will be less inclined to vote in the future, knowing how much damage they did with their last votes.

In many cases I honestly think they know the truth, but their contempt for that truth causes them to rebel against it. In the case of today's America one of the two major political parties shares and propagates the very same contempt and for the very same reason. So those contempt driven have a way to vent or focus their contempt in a more meaningful way, and all the rebels then have to do is make that easy downhill slide into that party. Which frankly to be a part of anymore, does not even require so much as a voter registration. I mean, they ought to give the donkey a make over and a torch with the inscription... "Send me you scornful, your unsettled, your unprofitable, and your willfully ignorant."

The enemy of my enemy is my friend, stick it to the man, rebel without a cause or a clue. You pick the impetus but it is rebellion for the sake of rebellion which history clearly shows is within the inherent nature of men. At any rate they would argue with their last breath because by choice, that is who they are.
