Spring is right around the corner and before we know it 7on7 season will be in full action. Below are some key notes and action items, make sure you read through everything.



Item 1 - Coaches Clinics & Regional Meetings

A few regional meetings have taken place and a few more are setup for the next few weeks. We also have a few mini Clinics scheduled for April, stay tuned for that info.


Item 2 - 2020 New KHSAA MSFB Schedule

For those AD's that attended the KHSAA MS meeting back in September this information was covered, but just to make sure that everyone is on the same page, in 2020 KHSAA has mandated that the first Regular Season Middle School Contest for football can not be played until the Saturday before the High Schools first varsity game, for 2020 that would be Saturday, August 15, 2020. With that said, KYMSFA has made a few adjustments to its 2020 calendar of events that everyone needs to make note of:

9/19/2020 - Game Week 6 (Playoff Seeding meeting will take place on Sunday 9/20/19 so that all games on 9/19/2020 will count)
9/26/2020 - Game Week 7
10/3/2020 - KYMSFA Play In Round
10/10/2020 - KYMSFA First Round Playoffs
10/17/2020 - KYMSFA Second Round Playoffs
10/24/2020 - KYMSFA Regional Championships
10/31/2020 & 11/1/2020 - KYMSFA Semi Finals Regions 1 vs 4, and Regions 2 vs 3
11/7/2020 & 11/8/2020 - KYMSFA Championships

11/27/2020 - 11/29/2020 - KYMSFA All Star Classic Weekend

* Note KYMSFA is reviewing a change in the required game minimum for 8th grade from 7 games to 6 games due to the new time lines, that final ruling will be posted in June after the annual meeting.



Item 3 - 2020 Region Player of the Year Expands to include 7th Grade

Starting in 2020 KYMSFA will have a Region Player of the year ballot for 7th grade. More will come in a separate email in the fall on that process.



Item 4 - KYMSFA Open Board of Directors Seat

KYMSFA is looking to fill an open Board of Directors Seat. Please see the attached "Prospective Board Member Responsibilities" this is a general guide of the many task and requirements. Item 5 - 6th grade teams - Invitational Tournament

KYMSFA is working on the formation of an end of the year 6th grade Invitational Tournament. Many details are still being worked out. If your 6th (or 5th/6th combined) team is assembled like your middle school team (per KYMSFA rules) and plays together all season, and you would have interest in this event, please contact.
