Raceland's Connor Messer was picked as the USATF Youth Athlete of the Year in Kentucky. He won the 17-18 2014 USA Youth Outdoor National Track & Field Championships at Indiana University this past summer, as well as winning three KHSAA Class A State Championships (High Jump, Pole Vault, & 110 High Hurdles) in May. Connor also won (2) Indoor State Track Championships in the 55 Meter High Hurdles, & the High Jump.
