Guys what is the easiest way to come up with things we can put on the jumbo tron? Let me know. Will talk to Ozz Monday if I get any ideas as far as graphics already made.
still looking for stuff for the jumbotron if anyone has any ideas.
To start it off have a picture of a cougar attacking the mascot of what ever team you are playing that week
that would be cool. They could let the students use a program to come up with that, and give the kids an A if they can come up with that. Don't know if LCC has a tech class, but that would be cool.

Last year when Letcher Central played Harlan County. They had a video on the J-tron of a Cougar attacking a bear. It looked like something off of Animal Planet.
What I am talking about is having a animated cougar like ripping the pants off of a pirate(belfry), grabbing the sword off a commodore and smacking him on the head(PCC), and roar at a tiger and make him turn yellow(Clay Co). Something comical. These are just suggestions.
There is actually no easy way to come up with things to go on the jumbo tron at LCC. As the person who has been the producer and director of the jumbo tron for four years, I can tell you that nothing goes on there easily. For the opening game, I spent over 40 hours creating advertising graphics, game script/run sheet, and the player intro video. If someone wants to create those animated graphics and if they are production quality and if we can fit it in among the colossal amount of advertising that already occurrs, we will try to put it on.
Last year's first game, the Jumbo Tron was awesome. Here's a video to use when we come back over next year.

I was just using those as examples. I just wish someone that knows how to create those animations. I am not saying that you couldn't, I was just saying I thought it would be cool. BTW, when is the game going to be on the school channel?
I don't handle that department. I just run the board on Friday nights.
oh OK thanks for the info. You guys do a great job, and if my post indicated you didn't I am sorry. I was just coming up with ideas for the jumbotron.

If you want professional quality animations then your best bet (software wise, resource wise, and support wise) would probably be Autodesk's Maya. I think they offer free but limited personal learning version for non commercial use. There are many tutorials and books available at Amazon for Maya. I have purchased over 20 Maya books over the last couple years.

Maya along with 3ds max and Lightwave are the more popular software packages used in CGI game design and movie productions. However, they are costly.

I have used the Maya software to model and animate solar system animations, trains, people, cars, faces, etc. However, I do it for fun/hobby and I'm by no means a professional. I have version 7 of the software that I purchased for a couple dollars a couple years ago. The newer versions cost much more than that.

But recently I have been reading and gaining a lot of interest in Blender-3d. I haven't tried it yet, however, it does look to be just as feature rich as the others I mentioned.

Blender-3d is an open-source equivalent of Maya, 3ds Max, and Lightwave.
There are tons of resources available online if you want to learn how to start using it. There are also books available at Amazon.

Hope that helps.
That is awesome. The tech class could really use this to animate a cougar, or the football field. That is cool!
