Well. Kentucky is a better team then what this game showed. Harris and porter just suck. Miller and Liggins should start. And also i never want to hear about louisville's close wins in there exibition games when UK lost to a team who's tallest player that saw action was 6'6. Georgetown college could beat VMI for chirsts sake.
What happened? I've been at work, and wasn't able to watch or listen. I was told that VMI shot something around 50% in the 1st half. Did UK play that bad?
Coach G. needs to call Rick Pitino and ask how you rotate your players that are hot and your players that are not. Porter could not start for most high school teams and Harris is at best just a guy to rest a starter and then get him back on the bench.
We should have won this game and Coach G. could not figure out that Miller and Liggins are better than Porter and Harris.

Bad coaching
I didn't think Harris was that bad---although I do agree he probably played too key of a role for too many minutes. But I completely agree about Porter---Liggins at this point is just better at seeing over the defense and is faster. Our problem tonight was ineffective lineups for too much of the game-- god it just sucked!
UK played terrible tonight. They came out flat and that didnt change much at all. Potter is the worst player on UK's team. He should never get to play again. He was your starting PG and he had 1 assist and 5 TO's. That is not what a PG is supposed to do. At least Ligens had more assist but he also had several TO's. Patterson played terrible. Also the UK defense was a joke tonight. They didnt pick up people in transition. I know that VMI shot the ball very well tonight but it doesnt help that UK had 20 some turnovers in this game. I am a huge UK fan but if we play this bad against UNC we will get beat by 50. The only bright spot is that Meeks looked good and he played pretty good. Billy G has to get this team to play better by Tuesday or it wil be ugly.
Congrats to VMI for starting off their season with a big upset.
Kentucky made this team look awsome. Although I do like the uptempo game, win or lose it was a very exciting game. On a side note I hope Meeks dosen't turn out like Joe Crawford and think he should shoot the ball on every touch, he played hard but looked selfish at times even turning the ball over instead of making an extra pass to his teammates. He just looked selfish to me, sorry guys. Miller looked awsome, no one looked for Patterson, Harris, well he's started 2 years and has never done anything. And Porter played his typical game, which wasn't much btw. Stevenson looked impresisive once again as well.

I disagree Meeks played unreal. If he had not played that good UK would have never made the comeback and would have lost by 15+.

Rupp's Rafters is in turmoil. All the talk about being "back" blah blah blah. Billy G couldn't coach a high school team worth a darn. He will play man-to-man until they die. He doesn't make adjustments at all. I didn't watch this game, but I'm going on what I've heard and seen since he arrived at UK. Good to see they have been woring on D though. O yea, Micheal Porter never needs to be in another UK uniform unless it's for football.
The way the defense was playing tonight, why not play Krebs and Slone? Heck, at least you have a three point threat. UK made 3 from beyond the arc out of like 14. Why have Harris in the game instead of Miller at the end? Harris is supposed to be a defensive specialist and he can't even do that. Porter couldn't start for Prestonsburg, and I'm sorry, but Perry Stevenson was terrible tonight. Yeah his offense looked decent, but in more cases than none, the guy that was left completely open was Perry's man. I don't understand why, if you're going to run man for man with a team, you would play 2 big men at all times. Why not have a lineup of Miller, Liggins, Meeks, Slone, and Krebs? I mean no defense was played anyway so it's not like this lineup would hurt you. At least maybe this 5 would give up layups instead of wide open 3's. If you're not going to use your big guys in your offensive set, then don't play them.

Read that again. 4 freakin' shots!! One big reason why UK lost is that they completely forgot about Patterson on the offensive end. He only took 4 shots, and of that I think 2 were rebound putbacks. Makes no sense to have a player like that and not get him the ball.
Although I guess 25 turnovers could be the reason too...

Was there any set plays called throughout this whole game on offense?
Watching Billie G coach tonight reminded me of Stephen Butcher in last years girls regional championship. It was like he did not know what the heck was going on and made no adjustments. Wasn't all BIlly G's fault though the team just played absolutley HORRIBLE.

Like everyone said, I was very disappointed in B.G.'s coaching performance. He showed no emotion and simply made no adjustments. We have to find a PG, Liggin's has the talent, but he makes a lot of stupid decisions.
