After arriving 5 minutes before scheduled game Russell did not have enough time to get warmed up and it showed right off the bat.... Estill drove 70 yards to score and eat up the entire first uqarter. XP no good which started off bad for the Devils........ But it did not take long for the Machine to warm up and get in the groove.
Connor Messer scored on the 4th play of the drive with a 65 yard scamper to paydirt. The lightning struck with the thunder coming right behind it, Bronson Korzep scored the XP to make it 8-6 Russell. On Estill Counties third play from scrimmage, Messer strips the ball and recovers the fumble. This flips the ON switch of the Machine again. Messer scores on a 34 yarder to the house to make it 14-6. Bobby May hit Maverick Dixon on a pass for the XP. Bronson Korzep set up the score after railroading a 35 yard run to set up the TD. On the Estill County Engineers third play from scrimmage, De-Ja-Vue hit again when Messer ran over the tailback causing and recovering a fumble again. After Russell huddled the Machine kept moving, Logan Suman, the fullback rumbled 56 yards for the third score of the day, Bobby May kept the ball and ran the XP in for 2. Half time came with Russell riding the rails 24-6.
At the start of the third quarter, Russell starts with the ball but Messer fumbles on the first play from scrimmage struggling for extra yards. But not to fear on Estill Co's first play from scrimmage, Messer recovers his third fumble of the day.
After a 7 play drive, Messer scores again from 20 out to make it 32-6, xp attempt was no good. Estill County hammers out a 13 play drive only to turn it over on downs. Bronson Korzep grinds out a 7 yard blast after an 8 play-4 first down drive. Korzeps score makes it 36-6, Brandon Scott ( the Center) moved to tailback and attempted the XP, it was no good- but close,, very close. Estill takes a 4 play series but turns it over after a great defensive stand by Russell. Bobby May connected to Jacob Bryant to score after a 9 play grind. Timmy Hammond in at tailback scores his first XP of the season. Score stands 44-6, RUSSELL.
Estill tries to throw the ball to make up the difference only to have it intercepted by Dixon. Spencer Cole runs the ball up the middle and breaks away in a crowd. Cole's score makes it 50-6. Andrew Hoback scores on the XP to make it 52-6 for the final.
