University of Louisville wide receiver Trent Guy was shot outside a Theater Square nightclub early this morning but is expected to make a full recovery.
Guy, a 20-year-old junior from Charlotte, N.C., is in stable condition at University Hospital after undergoing surgery for a gunshot wound on his back.
The shooting happened around 2:25 a.m. as Guy was walking toward a parking garage at 627 South Fifth Street next to Club Villa Fontana, Louisville Police spokesman Phil Russell said. Russell said the shooting followed an altercation inside the nightclub. No arrests had been made in the case as of last night.
