Billy G. earned a share of the 2008 SEC Coach of the Year award with Tennessee's Bruce Pearl, and Patrick Patterson was chosen as SEC Freshman of the Year along with Florida's Nick Calathes. Congrats to both!!! VERY deserving!!!!!

*Also, Ramel Bradley was selected 1st Team All-SEC while Joe Crawford and Patterson were 2nd Team selections.

Thats great for our guys and Pearl, who i cant help but like. Calathes though i cannot stand. He looks like a Ferengi from Star Trek. All he needs are those big ears.

Im right here and I still say he doesnt deserve it. I dont quite agree with the first and second team selections either. Crawford should have been on the first team with Bradley joining Patterson on the second team. I dont agree with the sixth man award either, it should have been Stevenson, he was great for UK coming off the bench even though he should be starting.

BG did deserve the award, and I agree with you on the Crawford and Stevenson thing. Crawford should've joined Ramel on the 1st team and Perry should've got 6th man.

I am not saying that Bruce Pearl didn't deserve this, but I think Billy G did a better coaching job than Pearl this year. I mean everybody expected Tennessee to probably win the SEC, but how many people would have thought Kentucky would be the one battling them for it?

I thought Crawford would surely make first team.

I am pretty mad that it is a Co-coach of the year. IMO it is no contest for Billy. I mean the guy had the bigger task and coached circles around the guy who he is sharing it with. ........ stupid.
BTW congrats to P PAT for his freshmen of the year honors. Too bad he had to share it with Vanilla Ice.

So, Braves fan, are you telling me that none of the players on the team improved this year, Stevenson didnt get better through out the year, Harris didnt improve, Crawford and Bradley didnt play better under Gillispie than they did Tubby. I ve always heard the sign of a good coach is how much your worst players improve through the season, and I would have to say a bunch of them did. And I agree, I dont think he should have to share with Pearl, everybody expected them to win, and they did, nobody thought UK would go 12-4 in the conference, so yeah I think he deserved it, and by himself to boot.
