I have a CD/DVD drive on my computer and I can play DVD's but if I insert a CD it will not read it and if I try to burn a CD it says to insert a blank disc. I went through one of those giant packs of discs one day and it asked that for all of them.

Check your burning software.
Your dvd/cd drive might be installed improperly might want to have it checked out by someone.

Uninstall your CD/DVD BURNER and reinstall it and update it. That should fix your problem.
