Congratulations Coach Swords!!!
Whitley County has been among the largest three schools in the region since it was created. No district championships since '81 and only 5 trips to the regional tournament since then according to the Times Tribune. Some real fundamental problems with the politics running the basketball program. We'll see if Coach Swords is the man that can turn that around, but it's a long track record of being a mess at Whitley with the boys basketball program. Will be interesting to watch if he can put basketball on the road that baseball has been on at WC.
Looks like Williamsburg traded up with the hiring of Hibbard. Swords may or may not be an improvement for Whitley but Hibbard replacing Swords ar Williamsburg is an upgrade for sure.
Whitley has beaten Corbin 4 times in last 27 years. Those 4 times in 3 year span 13-16. They hadn’t beaten them 18 years prior to that and haven’t 6 years after.
Leaving your alma mater for the county school. Wow.
