New PHS principal Ricky Thacker has hired Casey Huff as the new boys basketball head coach.

Huff played his high school ball at Harlan independent, played college basketball at Alice Lloyd College, and was previously employed by Knott County Schools.

Looking forward to seeing what Huff can do at Prestonsburg.

This was a very surprising hire. Normally Prestonsburg hires within the system and keeps it political. But I will say this. They just made a move that will improve their hoops programs for years to come as long as they give him the leash and contact to build on. Huff is a very very smart and hard working coach who has learned from one of the mountains best.. KCC let one get away and pburg found the diamond in the dirt..
