Here's one I noticed about the round of 32.  There is at least one team left from each seed(except for #16):

1.  Gonzaga, Michigan, Baylor, Illinois

2.  Houston, Alabama, Iowa

3.  WVA,  Kansas,   Arkansas

4.  OK ST. , FLA ST.

5. Villanova, Creighton, Colorado

6.  Texas Tech,  USC

7.  Florida, Oregon

8.  Oklahoma, LSU,  Loyola

9. Wisconsin

10. Maryland, Rutgers

11.  UCLA ,  Syracuse

12.  Oregon St.

13.  Ohio,  North Texas

14.  Abilene Christian

15. Oral Roberts

I wonder if this has ever happened before after the first round?

There were seven schools from Kentucky that were eligible for the NCAA Tournament when this season began. But only the Morehead Eagles represented the Bluegrass State in the  2021 Big Dance.

This  is the only time in history(not surprisingly) that Morehead State was the only team in the tourney representing the state of Kentucky.

It took an upset of Belmont just to get one KY team in the Dance.   The last time there were no teams from the state of Kentucky in the tournament was 1963.

One more interesting tidbit about Morehead from the OSH research department.   They once lost  two games in a NCAA  tournament.   In 1961, they lost in the Sweet Sixteen round(semifinals of Mideast Region) and then played and lost in the Mideast Region third place game.  Who were those losses to , you ask ?   Of course,    Kentucky   and Louisville   !!!
