Reggie Hanson became the second assistant from former Kentucky coach Tubby Smith's staff to find a new job when he was hired by South Florida this week. Hanson will work for USF first-year coach Stan Heath.

Hanson declined to elaborate on UK's recent recruiting efforts except to say last year's class was better than fans and evaluators thought. "Although they weren't the highest rated, those guys were just as good as the top-rated players," Hanson said of freshmen Jodie Meeks, Derrick Jasper, Perry Stevenson and Michael Porter. "Once those guys started playing, they showed they were a lot better than their ranking."

congrats and good luck to Reggie Hanson.
Congrats...
Congrats and Good Luck to Reggie Hanson!

Does anyone else find it odd that if Hanson was such a great assistant and recruiter, Why didn't Tubby hire him at Minnesota or why didn't he land somewhere else???

Or why didn't any of his assistants make the move to the Land of the Lakes? Hobbs retired right? Finney is in Marshall (Jones connection but still a major step down) and Hanson to South Florida, though they are in the Big East.

I guess Tubby had to make room for Saul on his new staff. Big Grin
Congrats to Reggie Hanson. Always did like him and one day he will get his oppurtunity as a head coach.
