No rules against it, it could be their spring practice, I know in NKY here spring practice starts next week for most teams (they are on spring break this week.)
Official start dates are a local school district decision. KYMSFA member teams can start practice on July 11th this year, and must adhere to the acclimation period schedule.

Start as early as you want, your not catching up with Belfry. Easy to see why Belfry is heads above everyone else. When you start early you peak early. Glad coach waits to start practice later than everyone. Let kids enjoy being kids during the summer and they will want to work hard.
