I know this forum is dominated by talk of the middle school playoffs (and rightfully so), but I had neglected in posting scores recently.
This game was close early. Knott burned Valley with a combination of long runs and deep passes in the first half, and actually led 16-14 at the break.
Valley's defense stiffened up in the second half, though, and their methodical offense scored on both of their first two drives to go up 28-16. After stopping Knott short on a 4th down play midway through the fourth quarter, Valley took out the starting running backs. The last touchdown was run in from the 12-yard line by the 2nd string halfback to set the final score.
Valley moves to 5-5 on the year, with two games left on the season.
