This was very good game between two evenly matched teams. Hazard struck first, scoring a TD to make the score 6-0. SV then evened things up at 6 with a touchdown of their own with a little over a minute left in the first half. It looked as though it would be tied at the half, but the Bulldogs scored on a reverse with only a few seconds left before the buzzer, and took the lead by a score of 12-6.
Valley came out strong on defense in the second half, holding Hazard mostly in check during the 3rd quarter. SV then scored a TD with the conversion to take a 14-12 lead. Valley would tack on another score late in the 4th, but barely missed the conversion, leaving Hazard with one last chance to tie it up. But SV's defense held up once again, sealing the win for the Wildcats.
Congrats to both teams. These two will meet up two more times this year, with the next game scheduled for tomorrow.
