^ what makes ya say that? Seems to me he's done a pretty good job in his first three years of head coaching job.

Today Kevin Spurlock was at Perry Cent I do know that.

And MAXEY, I seem to recall you were running your mouth about Spurlock back in March on here, knowing we know who you are, and then at state tournament you tried to do the weasel thing and shake Spurlock's hand like you'd done nothing wrong and he basically told you to get out of his face or he'd kick your a** in front of everyone there and you tucked your tail between your legs and walked off. Don't try to deny it cause I and many others were right there. You are big talk on here, hide behind your words, but in person you're not tough at all. And truth was told, you're an AAU coach so what have you done. How many REAL distrct, region, and state championship titles do you have as a head coach? That's right, NONE!!!!!

As for Spurlock, no matter where he ends up, he'll keep right on winning as he always has.

Someone explain to me how an average coach who is not well liked and schools seem to be glad when he leaves, keeps getting good coaching jobs?

Idk about Clay but Hazard was not glad Spurlock left.. I've heard School Board Members say they hated that Spurlock left.. It wasn't all of Hazard that hated him.. Just 1 or 2 ppl... there was just 1 person trying to push Spurlock out and he was BFF with the man in charge.

U people can say what u want I played for Spurlock and I've coached with a few other coaches such as Al Holland.. Coach Spurlock is as good as any coach in EKY. Better than a lot.

What has Spurlock's record been in the past at previous schools. He has had some good jobs, and me being from Fl, I am not sure but seem to remember him having pretty good records, but it is hard to tell from these posts lol. I know he had a good record this past year at Sheldon Clark. Thanks in advance. This has been some thread lol. Wow.

You have played for him and have coached with a good coach and you think a LOT of Spurlock's coaching ability. That says a lot to me.

May end up being a very good hire if it happens just have to wait and see.

Oh, I'm not sure I have no chance winning. I was in the office of the first coach called by the Superintendent when the cell phone chirp went off. Might Spurlock stay? I guess he may. But the Super ain't holding out much hope and is lining his ducks up regardless of what you want to say. You can call out who you want, you may be related, you may have your head so far up Spurlocks behind it'd be tough to figure out where he ends and you start, but this one thing is true, the superintendent of his employ is in the process of trying to do what's best for Sheldon Clark basketball and making preparations. That is 100% fact, not hearsay, not what twitter, not anything but hearing the conversation point blank. So, go on running your jaw about what you know and who's ignorant. If he stays, I commend him. If he goes, I say he's chickenshiiiit for doing it the way he has.

No more waiting needed! He was escorted around the campus this evening and was talking with Coach Napier about practice schedules and such. He is the new coach at Perry Central. Now you all can quit talking about it. :Cheerlead

Funny im the only one that will put my name on here!! The reason the Travlers wanna come to KY is they are trying to see what im doing to get kids out of there state because they sure cant!! Lol Ask any of my kids how they like playing for me. The proof is in the pudding. I get the BEST kids out of KY except the Magic and we have combined so no matter who comes we are running this state as long as we want it.. See how many of our players go D1 in two years compared to the Travlers.. They sucked then and they will suck now.. Won 8 games in four years on the circuit.. Anything we can do to get them to play we are willing. Anyplace anytime!!

I dont know anything about the situation with you and coach spurlock. However, I know if you said what you say Kevin would have not just walked away, no chance. kevin was not raised that way, so i would guess you are fabricating your position on what happened. If your AAU program as classy as you say you should probable keep from making any stupid comments on this or any site, true or false because your killing your reputation.

Guys I don't personally know any of you all, but this is a high school basketball forum website. Must we sit around and bash each other about who is qualified as a head coach and who's not, come on now lets talk basketball..In my opinion on the topic, I do not think Coach Spurlock is the best fit for this PCC job. Do not get me wrong, I believe he is a good coach, but I know there are better options for this program and there has to be a long list of coaches interested and even probably calling the principal, AD, or super. Coach Spurlock had hands down the BEST team in the 15th Region last year and should have went to RUPP (Had the best pure scorer and PG in the region in Moore, and one of the top 2 players in the Region and a freak athlete in Johnson)..I don't even remember what happened to SC in the district or region, who did they play and what happened??? Were they outplayed, out coached, out hustled, over matched, not as good??? Someone fill me in who knows...But just my opinion, so don't jump all over me, but I believe they could make a better hire. Any thoughts from everyone?

Oh lord please don't start with the Kasongo stuff..He is very close to me and I could give you every answer about him, but I do not want to hear anymore about him on here please.

I have always said Spurlock is a good coach. A really good X O guy but the way he has bashed me to people really left a bad taste in my mouth. He said things about me to people I was very close to. It was all just a lie because he was fearing that I was trying to get players to leave his program that is as far from the truth as possible. You can ask anyone that knows me all I do is try to help the kids in the summer time with there game and exposure. Had things not been said first about me I would have never started defending myself. As far as me being a great coach I dont profess to be, I try to build relationships with players and there parents I use my college contacts to try to help find the best fit. My reputation is solid with whoever I deal with on each level. I am not a guy who looks for people and coaches to bash. If there is anyone who wans to see any of these kids do good I promise its me. My track record speaks for itself. Of all the kids ive coached through the years ive had to deal with tons of high school coaches. Do you see me ever saying a bad word about them or vice versa?

It may be getting worse but the comment about Spurlock taking a tour of the school is as true as it gets. I don't know about talking with Randy about schedules but it really wouldn't be that farfetched to imagine that he would be talking to him about that.

Personally, I think if (when) Spurlock takes the job he should take out an ad in the Big Sandy apologizing to not only them but to the people of Sheldon Clark.

I hope for the kids' sakes and for the sake of their program that a solid coach is around the corner. Some coaches are mercenaries, others are in it totally for the right reasons. I wish the superintendent luck in finding a solid replacement.

Additionally, if you want to be taken seriously as a coach, why in the wide, wide world of sports would you put your name out there on a damn message board constantly tooting your own horn? Like Fat Albert and the gang would say, "you're like school on Sunday,,,No Class!"
