Middle Tennessee Associate Coach Donnie Tyndall is the pick to be the new head basketball coach at Morehead State, according to a source close to the situation.

Tyndall served as the recruiting coordinator for the Blue Raiders, landing back-to-back top 25 classes in 2003 and 04.

Prior to his stay in Murfreesboro, Tyndall was the associate head coach and chief recruiter at Idaho.

Prior to that, he was an assistant under John Brady at LSU, where he helped lead the Tigers to the 2000 SEC championship.

He also spent one season as the head coach at Saint Catherine College in Springfield, Ky., which he led to the national junior college tournament for the first time.

Tyndall played his college basketball at MSU.

Morehead State public radio says Tyndall will be introduced at 4-30 p.m. (ET) this afternoon.

Sounds like a good hire. Morehead needed a change in direction, and hopefully it will work out for them.

what happened to Macy?
He resigned after 9 seasons and a 106-144 record. Some say he complained about lack of support and funding from the administration.
I thought he ran the entire program wrong by closing practices from the students..Loved what the new coach had to say about recruiting Kentucky boys and making it for the college! Sounds like things could get exciting in Morehead!

Not trying to argue, but how does closing practices from students affect the entire program?
